Am I taking in a problem youth?
The young people who qualify for a Room with Attention are "normal" young people who go to school and/or have a job. However, they often do not have a support network to turn to.


Must I be able to accompany young people?
The young person is guided by an itinerant supervisor.

 

Do I lose my privacy?
You agree in advance which areas of the house are common and which are not. So that you can, for example, keep the garden or the living room to yourself.


Am I suitable?
Anyone can offer a room. Our room owners range in age from 25 to 75. They are couples, singles and residential groups.


Will my income tax go up?
The Tax Office sets annual room rental exemptions each year. In 2023, you may rent out a room up to €5.851 without paying tax on it.  For more information this link.


Can I rent out a room in a rental house?

We always works with temporary rental contracts which means that the majority of housing corporations give permission.. We can help you with this.


Will I lose my rent subsidy?
You have a written rental agreement and notify the tax office within 4 weeks that you are renting out a room. Then the income of the young person does not count towards your rent allowance.


Is my house suitable for this?
Any room can become a room in the attic, in a house or apartment, to an independent house in the garden. Rooms with Attention provides support for permits and the placement .


What do I get in return?
In addition to receiving rent, all young people are willing to do something in return. For example, a chore around the house, babysitting, walking the dog or getting groceries.


Do I need extra insurance?
As a landlord, you have to report to your buildings and contents insurer that you are going to rent out a room.
